roots with muddy leaves. Off we went, along a path. We passed by a manioc plantation. I knew it was manioc because the leaves were just like the ones I was carrying in the basket.
We arrived at a not very wide river. There was a canoe right by the riverbank made out of a tree trunk. It was about three meters long and one meter wide. A huge alligator lay right by it. ItÕs mouth was enormous and it had two huge eyes that were wide open. Nobody seemed bothered by him. We loaded the canoe. It seemed to be more packed with things than my dad's car when we go away to the farm for carnival holiday. Father Indian began to row down the river. The alligator followed us. God knows where we were heading.
